What is ikigai?
Ikigai is a Japanese word with no real translation but a lot of meaning!
'Iki' means to live and 'gai' describes value, meaning or purpose, so the closest translation is meaning or purpose in life, but it's more about feeling - that we find meaning in what we do, we do things that help us feel fulfilled and help us live a long and happy life.
When we chose the name of our refill shop we felt ikigai encompassed everything we wanted the shop to be - something to give meaning and purpose, through reusing and recycling, and to give a long and happy life to the planet!
